My first visit to a laundry was at the tender age of four days old. That's when proud father, Sam Garofalo Sr., held me in his arms and probably dreamed of the day when his sons would be with him in the laundry business.
When I was 8 years old, he allowed my brother and me to help out on Saturdays by "pulling pockets" to remove pens and other articles so that they wouldn't get into the machines. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed until he palmed that ten dollar bill, making me think it came from one of the pockets. I became the best "pocket puller" in the industry.
My dad taught me a lot, but the two most important lessons were hard work and common sense. I remember the consultants that came in and gave us $100 solutions to $50 problems. When I started Technical Consulting, I vowed to always give $50 solutions to $1,000 problems. At Technical Consulting, WE WORK FOR YOU. That's not just a cliche...that's my personal commitment to you.
